Privacy policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026 · Applies to the OrdenZ app and website
OrdenZ is a self-order kiosk and point-of-sale (POS) app for cafes and restaurants, made by OrdenZ. The app connects to the OrdenZ server that the cafe uses. This policy explains what the app handles, why, and who sees it.
Who is responsible
OrdenZ is developed by Joshua Selvam, India. Each cafe that uses OrdenZ controls its own data on its OrdenZ account. Contact: iamjoshuaselvam@gmail.com.
What the app handles
| Data | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Orders: items, prices, token and bill numbers, payment method and payment reference | To take orders, send them to the kitchen, print receipts and produce sales reports for the cafe | The cafe's OrdenZ server |
| Cafe owner and staff sign-in: name, email (owner), password and PIN | To sign staff in and control what each person can do | The cafe's OrdenZ server. Passwords and PINs are stored only as one-way hashes |
| Loyalty: a customer's mobile number and points, only if the customer chooses to join | To give and redeem loyalty points | The cafe's OrdenZ server |
| WhatsApp offers: loyalty members' mobile numbers and the message text, only when the cafe sends a campaign | To send offers the cafe writes | The cafe's own WhatsApp Business account (Meta), set up by the cafe |
| Voice, only while someone taps the microphone button | To turn a spoken order into text | The device's speech recognition service. The app does not record or keep audio. The text goes to the cafe's server and, only if the cafe turned on an AI assistant, to the AI provider the cafe chose |
| Menu photos, only when the owner uses "Import menu" | To read item names and prices from the photo | The AI provider the cafe chose, for that request |
| Menu item photos the owner adds | To show the food on the kiosk and menus | The cafe's OrdenZ server. Menu photos are not private: kiosks load them by a public link |
| TableTurn bookings: the customer's name, mobile number, party size and time | To hold a table and tell the customer when it's ready | The cafe's OrdenZ server. The cafe may confirm the booking on WhatsApp from its own phone |
| TableTurn clean-up photos taken by staff (tables only, never customers) | To show a table was cleaned before the next guests sit down | The cafe's OrdenZ server, seen only by the owner and the staff member. Deleted automatically after 7 days |
| Stars customers give staff from the bill: the staff member chosen and an optional message | To recognise good service | The cafe's OrdenZ server, shown to the cafe's staff and owner. Only the staff member's first name is shown on the star page |
| Bulk and catering orders: the customer's name, mobile number, company or event, delivery or venue address, and advance payments | To prepare, deliver and bill large orders the cafe has agreed with the customer | The cafe's OrdenZ server. The cafe may send the order details to the customer on WhatsApp from its own phone |
| Table QR orders, if the cafe turns them on: the items a guest orders from the code on their table, and an optional first name and note | To send the order to the cafe and show the guest its progress | The cafe's OrdenZ server. The guest's phone keeps a random order key; no account, phone number or email is asked for |
| Payments and the cash drawer: each payment on a bill (method, amount, an optional label such as a guest's name, reference) and each cash shift (float, cash in and out with a reason, the counted cash, who counted and reviewed it) | To split bills, close the day and check the cash | The cafe's OrdenZ server |
| Delivery-app orders: the app's order number, the commission and the payout the cafe records | To track what each delivery app owes the cafe | The cafe's OrdenZ server. OrdenZ doesn't connect to the delivery apps or receive their customers' details |
| E-invoices in Malaysia, only when a customer asks: the buyer's name, tax number (TIN), ID or registration number, email, phone and address | To prepare that customer's e-invoice file | The cafe's OrdenZ server. OrdenZ doesn't submit e-invoices; the cafe uploads the files to MyInvois itself |
| Linked outlets, if an owner links cafes they own: which cafes are linked | To show all the owner's outlets on one screen | The cafe's OrdenZ server, with an entry in each cafe's activity log when an owner opens another outlet |
| Bluetooth and local network | To print receipts and kitchen tickets on the cafe's printer | Directly to the printer |
| Offline bills | So the counter can keep billing without internet | Kept on the device until sent to the cafe's server, then removed |
Customers ordering at a kiosk don't need an account. UPI payments are made in the customer's own UPI app; OrdenZ only receives the payment confirmation and reference from the cafe's payment gateway (Razorpay or PhonePe). OrdenZ never sees bank or card details.
What we don't do
- No advertising and no advertising IDs.
- No analytics or tracking tools in the app.
- We don't sell or share data with data brokers.
- No location tracking.
This website
This website doesn't use cookies or analytics. Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard technical logs (such as IP addresses) to run and protect the site. The live demo runs only in your browser and keeps its sample data there.
Security
Data is sent over HTTPS. Sign-in uses signed tokens, repeated sign-in attempts are slowed down, and devices such as kiosks can only do kiosk tasks. Each cafe can only see its own data.
Keeping and deleting data
Sales records are kept for as long as the cafe needs them for its accounts and tax records. A cafe owner can delete the cafe account and all its data at any time. See how to delete your account. Customers can ask the cafe to remove their loyalty number.
Children
OrdenZ is a business app for cafe staff and customers placing food orders. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
